News: CELEBRATE THE ROARING 20s – 100 YEARS ON: Sunday 23 February 2020 at Valley Heights Rail Museum
‘Trains Trams & Ts’ celebrates the ‘New’ Roaring 20s with old cars, live music with “The Little Black Ducks”, period dress competition (maybe win a prize!), Morse Code demonstrations and more. Enjoy all the museum's great experiences and activities: climb on board engines and carriages that showcase over 100 years of railway history across the Mountains; take 20 minute rides* on the heritage listed 1891 Sydney Steam Tram* (included in admission fee); check out the two model rooms then grab a drink or snack in the café.
STOP PRESS – by special arrangement steam locomotive 5711 will be available for cab inspection. Hop aboard this giant machine and experience the drivers’ view 1920s style! Then view information panels newly created for the loco’s recent 90th birthday and appreciate the contribution this 230 tonne monster made to NSW rail transport.
Open: 10am until 4pm. Last ride* at 3.30pm.
